Funeral Director
Robert passed away peacefully in the presence of two of his daughters, Karen and Kate on Christmas Eve 2022 on Clyst Ward at the RD&E Hospital. He was much loved and will be greatly missed by all his family and many friends!
Robert was born on the 17th Dec 1944 in the Llanfrechfa Grange Hospital, Cwmbran Wales. He spent the majority of his adult life living in Clayhidon and in more recent years, Hemyock. Robert was an active member of the local community and was well known and liked by many . He worked for the local council authority as a lorry driver, and in his spare time was a Parish Councillor and Bar man at the Half Moon Inn, Clayhidon.
He played Darts, Skittles and enjoyed volunteering his time as a driver and general helper for the Healthly Living Centre and other local charities. He was a founding member of the Blackdown Sea Angling Club and enjoyed both fresh and sea water fishing. As a keen amateur CB Radio operator he would whistle out the call signs “M3YNI” and “Rod Rest”.
Funeral is to take place at 12 noon on Friday 27th January 2023 at Taunton Crematorium (family flowers only). If attending, funky ties, waists coats and trouser braces would be a welcomed dress code in memory of Robert's quirky dress sense.
