In loving memory of Jack Douglas Pearce who sadly passed away at home, in his sleep, on 18th December 2022
He was 97 and spent his entire working life in public service as a Metropolitan police officer, an Educational Welfare Officer, and finally as a Citizens Advice Bureau volunteer adviser.
He was an only child, but was always grateful to the Bexley family he joined when he got married making him a husband and brother in law and later uncle and great uncle. He soon had his own family, Jackie and Robert, so his family continued to grow as he became father in law, grandad and great grandad (Pepe). He loved his family and was never happier than when spending time with them.
Rita and Jack bought a home in France where they lived happily for half the year for 26 years. He loved having friends and family to stay, always enjoying feeding and entertaining them. He always said he "lived to eat" and where better than in France. Definitely his happy place! As we've been looking through photos so many are taken at celebrations involving food and drink!
For 95 years, he had a blessed life with wonderful friends and family, making so many happy memories. Rita and Jack have visited the USA several times to their best friends, family in Australia, and friends in New Zealand as well as holidays in many European countries. Great travellers for their age.
Sadly, Jack fell and broke his hip in December 2020 and has had many infections since then, but was a strong man and fought on without any fuss. He was a good man, loved by us all, and will be missed by so many.
RIP Dad. We love you .
