In loving memory of Arthur Richard Jones. Arthur was a very loving, kind and special person. He loved to joke and smile as you all know, there never was a dull moment.
Even in his last few weeks in hospital, he was making everyone smile and laugh. He sadly passed away on the 15th December, with his family around him. He loved his hobbies, which included fishing and ballroom dancing. On a coach trip to Scotland earlier this year, the section of the coach where we sat said he had made their trip a lot more enjoyable due to his humour and kindness. He loves his family and would always go out of his way to make them happy.
We have so many great memories, and I would love for you to share your own memories with Arthur here.

Although we only met a couple of times with Max and Maggie, Arthur was great company, very welcoming and very proud of his grandchildren. Rest in peace…

I cannot think of Arthur without remembering his incredible dance floor moves at every party we ever went to. He was so much fun, so kind and always had the imp of mischief on his shoulder. I absolutely adored him.

One sunny Saturday afternoon in London in the late 1950's, I answered our door bell. On the step stood a shy young couple. To me, as an impressionable 12 year old, he was like a film star, handsome and impeccably dressed, she an elegant model out of Vogue. My cousin Maureen had brought Arthur to meet my family for the first time. His shyness was eventually replaced with such an infectious sense of warm humour, a wonderful smile, and of course that trade mark cheeky grin! He adored Maureen and nothing ever changed. Rest in peace lovely man - you were one of the best.

What can I say about 'Arf' whom I considered a friend, he always had a joke or story to make you smile.

Fishing was a passion and I think this prayer is appropriate "God Grant that I may live to fish until my dying day, And when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray; When in the Lord's safe landing net I'm peacefully asleep, That in His mercy I be judged as good enough to keep."
