In loving memory of Maureen Stevens who sadly passed away on 8th December 2022. Beloved wife to John, devoted mum to Jane and Caroline and proud nan to Ben, Ezra and Evie. Maureen was a loyal friend to so many, and will be much missed by her extended family and everyone that knew her.

Funeral service to be held on Wednesday 4th January at 12noon, West Suffolk Crematorium, IP28 6RR followed by refreshments at The Lakehouse cafe, Lower Road, Stowmarket, IP14 3BX

At Maureen’s request, family flowers only please, but donations can be made to her chosen charities Asthma + Lung UK or RNLI via Just Giving on this page

I first met Maureen in the mid 1950s prior to becoming a permanent part of her family. We would see each other on a regular basis at weekly family teas, insisted on by her maternal grandmother. A very good reason was required to be absent.
Before she married John her father had sadly died, and she asked me to “give her away”.
When she and John moved to Kent regular contact was lost, although various family occasions brought us together from time to time.
Prior to her moving from Sudbury Elaine and I visited her several times, either for pleasant lunches at her home or in the town.
Sadly due to my ill health we were unable to make further visits.
We were saddened to hear of her death but continue to hold very fond memories.
