So sad that Dave has passed away, he suffered from a cruel disease which took away all his memories. However the rest of us have very happy memories of working with Dave, he will be remembered with fondness. So sorry for your loss Gail.

Such a cruel disease that took away his memories but thankfully you still have those memories to hold and remember of many special years you spent together.
Uncle Dave will be very missed.

I have found memories of joining the team at the Occupation Therapy Library in Derby in 1992. Dave made me feel welcome, as did the wider team at Mickleover. I can't begin to imagine what you went through watching Dave's illness consume him Gail? Such a cruel disease.

Gail, we have never met but I knew David, indeed, shared a flat with him, during our time at Warwick University. Like Mark Whyte, I remember fondly our trips to Sunderland when we often stayed at Dave's home, being cossetted by his lovely Mum. You have had a difficult time over recent years but, as you say, your 35 years together will always be with you. May his memory be blessed.

Glennis and I are so very sorry to hear the sad news. We send our love and support to Gail. Dave was a lovely man and a dear friend. I have great memories of our time together at Warwick University and of our trips to Sunderland and Roker Park. Dave was the Best Man at our wedding and he was indeed the best man to be so.

So glad you still have your 35 years of memories, Gail.

A wonderful son in law, always welcome at our home in Coventry, a much loved addition to the family, the unresolved mystery which is still to this day a mystery but also very impressive! how on earth did you ever eat 2 Sunday dinners!!

So many memories of sharing a (tiny) office with Dave for many years and of all the laughter. The Dave we knew disappeared sometime ago thanks to this horrible illness but he is now at peace. Am sure though he will still be keeping an eye on his beloved Sunderland wearing his best football gansey xx

Husband to Gail, together for over 35 years.
Loved his Sunderland AFC and his home roots of Sunderland.
His smile and cheeky grin would win over anybody, a clever and well informed man.
The Alzheimer’s broke a beautiful man.
