In loving memory of Philip Richard Perrin, who sadly passed away on 20th November 2022.
Born 29/4/1947, dad married Ann when they were both quite young and had 3 children together, Richard, Anita and Nicola. After separating from Ann, dad went on to marry my mum, Shirley, and they had 2 children together, first Claire and then finally me - they realised they couldn't improve on me, so why keep trying? That or I put them off the idea of having more kids for good. We didn't have much growing up, but dad provided what he could.
In 2003 our lives changed and we went from a close family of 4 to a closer family of 2. Even after I moved to Leyland to be with the love of my life, dad and I had a close bond. He helped me out of many tight scrapes, even when he could barely afford to look after himself. Without dad I wouldn't be the man I am today. I would see him as often as I could, but not as much as I would have liked, and looking back now, I wish I had been around more.
Even in his final days while in the hospital, he kept his spirits as high as he could and his dark sense of humour as long as possible. Even in the face of the inevitable, dad stayed strong and was more concerned for my wellbeing than his own. I hope I can live to be the man you believed me to be.
I love you dad, and I will miss you always.

Friends with Phil since schooldays in the early sixties. Rest in peace old friend. Photo is from a holiday when Phil accompanied my parents and I to Norfolk around 1963.

I will always remember Uncle Phil and I getting banned from playing Atari Soccer together as we were extremely competitive. Great memories and will always remember him that way.

Uncle Phil was a very patient man. I didn’t get to see him much but when we were a lot younger I used to pop in after work to see Aunt Shirley and the two children. Phil would come home from work and smile at us all. Always asked me to stay for tea which I did on a few occasions. It was lovely to see them all together. After I got married in 1990, Claire was my bridesmaid, I didn’t see as much of them as I would of liked. And then Tragedy struck. We lost Aunty Shirley and Claire. I was away at the time with my own family. It was heart breaking. I moved away permanently after and am now in Devon. Which is why I no longer saw Uncle Phil. Rest in Peace back with Shirley and Claire again. Lots of love. Tracy and Family.

One of my last memories I have of dad shows just the sort of man he was. The day before he passed away I had gone for some fresh air at the hospital as dad was not with it. By the time I got back he was sat up with the palliative nurse cracking a joke as best he could while being unable to speak properly. He saw me and beckoned me over, and he asked me "are you OK" I will never forget those three words. With everything he was going through, he knew what was coming but all he could ask me was if I was ok. I will never forget that.

My brother Phil, I cannot & just can’t believe you are no longer around, until I’m at the funeral & only then will I realise that you are indeed never going to be contactable ever again, I still have the text messages that I was sending & receiving when you were in hospital fighting for your life & I just can’t seem to delete them. I’ll always love & respect your memory. RIP Phil I Love you ! ❤️
