Like many people I have known Ted most of my life.
He was a great help to me from a technical aspect when I was building my boat at MCC back in the 80's, especially with drawing up the lines for the hull, his continued interest in the boat was very much appreciated.
Sharon and I send our condolences to Kath and all his family at this sad time.

Chatham Dockyard Historical Society (CDHS) donated £30 in memory of Hylton

Ted was a long standing member of CDHS and contributed to the Society's work in many ways, including service as a Committee Member. His shipwright's knowledge was key in the adapting model galleons to 'sail' in a demonstration in the dockyard. A particular display in the Museum curated by Ted showed the process of designing a warship and also displayed some unique instruments and tools used to calculate the hull form.

My condolences to all of Ted’s family. He was a absolute gentleman and inspirational as my Apprentice Training Officer. His knowledge of naval architecture was legend among all of us that benefitted from it. I also enjoyed sailing with him.
