In loving memory of Violet Mildred Baldock who sadly passed away on 19th November 2022

Violet, or Vi as most people will have known her, was born on 6th October 1929 in Poplar, East London; the eldest of the four children of Lena and Tom Snoddy. The family lived in Poplar until World War Two when they moved to Barking following bomb damage to their home in Poplar. The war meant that Vi, her sister Pat and brother Tom were evacuated to Wales with her youngest sister, Connie, remaining at home. The children did not enjoy their evacuation and their Mum came and took them home.

Vi married Leonard Baldock in 1953 and had two children Susan and Simon. She lived in Harlow until 1987 when she moved to Whifield where she lived up until her death.

RIP Vi, a beautiful lady inside and out. You never minced your words and very quick to show your gratitude. Wherever we went people always talked to you. So proud of your family and always interested to hear about mine, especially My grandchildren. I can still see the lovely smile on your face when I popped my head round the door and you almost squealing with delight. Forever in my thoughts my dearest Vi x

I liked her from the first day I met her, straight talking and no nonsense was Vi, and stubborn lol. Yet she was so caring and would notice if things weren't quite right
with you. You can have fish and chips every day now Vi. Rest in Peace Violet. Reunited with Len and your brother. X
