In loving memory of Gloria Rosaleen Nix who sadly passed away on 10th November 2022

John Nix wrote

After over 66 years of knowing you and over 62 years of marriage, you left as you had lived, quietly with no fuss. Thank you for our life together, our children and all that you had subtly taught me. This has enabled me to cope with the loss and begin to reorganise my life with the children's help.

Thank you for being an amazing grandma. For sneaking me the extra biscuit, for always having (mint!) icecream in the freezer, for sharing your love of cats, for the many games of cards (when grandma is quiet you know she's winning!), for the wonderful days at the cricket, the silly hat competitions and the pumpkin carving competition (although you cheated!) and for the many, many center parcs holidays, trips out, treats and memories. Thank you for welcoming Simon into the family (by teasing him like everyone else), and for being so very excited for Autumn's arrival. I know there is so much more to say, I'm sure I'll think of so many more things that I haven't written over the next few hours, days and weeks. You have been a huge part of my life and I shall always be grateful. I will miss you and love you always. Thank you for everything Grandma. All of our love, Rebecca, Simon and Autumn xxx

Thinking back to the 1970’s family friends were know as ‘Aunties’ and Aunty Gloria was one of these people for me
I was so sorry to hear of her sad passing - I have many fond memories of visiting the Nix’s - Aunty Gloria was always smiley, warm and kind, such a lovely person I feel lucky to have known -we laughed a lot and there was always great food!! This was the first household I knew with a cat… I was very impressed by this and have since upheld that tradition myself 😻
I will be thinking of you all on Thursday and sending my love and strength
With lots of love
Fran

With very many happy memories of mad Nix Family Boxing Day games and getting lost/playing cricket in Clumber Park - and (Aunty) Gloria patiently making cheese and piccalilli sandwiches for our lunches!
