In memory of my big sister Sue who fought so hard to stay with us. I am so proud of you. Always in my thoughts, forever in my heart. Love you forever.
Sue Gelder (11 Nov 1953 - 4 Nov 2022)
In loving memory of Sue Gelder who sadly passed away on 4th November 2022.
Daughter of Jean and Levi, Sue was a loving wife to Bob, proud mother to her daughter Rebecca & son-in-law Steve, dear sister to Karen & Kevin, and aunty to Luke.
She lived her life caring for others, and in later years discovered a passion for travel with her daughter and son -in-law Steve......this passion allowed her to twice fulfil her life dream to visit New York, travel Route 66 from start to finish, spend great days in Orlando & Key West, cruise the Caribbean, and relax in the sun in Cyprus & Tenerife on many sunny days.
She even developed a rebellious streak in her 60's having 3 tattoos; including a Star Wars RD-D2 tattoo which often drew attention on her many trips to Walt Disney World.
Sue will be dearly missed by all those who loved her, in particular by her daughter Rebecca who seldom passed a morning or afternoon without talking to Sue.
Sue looked after her dad, husband Bob and son-in-law Steve when they were all hit with severe illness, and alongside Karen & Kevin spent many years ensuring her Mom Jean was also afforded the same care and attention.
Sue battled cancer with a strong will exceeding her initial diagnosis timescale by several months. The lost time of COVID was partly recovered in the 3 breaks she took with Rebecca & Steve to Forest holidays in Cheshire, where she was able to relax in the countryside and spend time playing with her fur grandson "Barney", whom she adored.
She passed away peacefully on Friday 4th November in her home, surrounded by her family. Though our hearts are broken we are thankful for the time we all spent with Sue, she was always there to support you in a time of need.
If you wish to make a donation in Sue's name a link to donate to Marie Curie is available on this memorial page. Marie Curie provided wonderful support to Sue in her final days.
In loving memory - Rebecca, Steve, Karen, Kevin and Luke. XXXXXXXXXXX
