Mary had been a much loved and faithful member of Norristhorpe Chapel for near-on 60 years, which has included: becoming an Elder; Pulpit Supply Secretary; Leading worship; Lay President for Communion Services; leading Bible Study Groups; starting a successful Worship Group; organizing a Carol Services each year; kept in pastoral contact with people; and welcomed the fellowship to the notorious Strawberry Teas at the White House. She is remembered for coming to Chapel on her scooter well into her 70s, but especially for the fact that she was approachable, a good listener, kind, generous, supportive and a lovely example of the way that a life should be lived dedicated to her Lord. The last time she was able to grace us with her presence was at her Great Granddaughters baptism. She will be greatly missed, but her memory will live on in the lives of those she influenced. God bless. Chris (retired URC minister on behalf of Norristhorpe Chapel)
