Funeral Director
In loving memory of Rita Nock who sadly passed away on 3rd October 2022
Rita was born in Walsall in the West Midlands, the second born daughter to William (Bill) and Sarah Lowbridge. She and older sister Jean were soon joined by younger sisters Von and Maureen and brother Bill.
Rita met Derek Nock as he went to complete his National Service over in Cyprus, they stayed in touch and married in 1960. They became parents to Stuart, Russell and Lisa.
In 1972 the family relocated to Nottingham. Rita worked for Nottingham City Council at Woodthorpe Grange for many years.
Rita loved to dance and attended several Line Dance classes every week and made so very many friends there.
Rita’s garden was another thing she was immensely proud of, she was always tending to her plants and looking to rescue a few bargains at the local garden centres.
Rita’s biggest love was for her Grandchildren: Ryan, Jack, Izzy, Lauren, Tom and Sam. She loved spending time with them, sharing stories and listening to theirs.
Many will know that Rita had often struggled with her health, but she never let this define her- she constantly fought to cope with whatever she had to, she never wanted to become a burden on anyone.
Derek passed in 2002, Rita then retired from work and after a few years, she met the love of her later life, Pete. They both knew the pain of loss and the need to live life to the full every day. Rita had always loved to travel and had been lucky to visit many parts of the word over the years. She and Pete had just returned from a holiday in Madeira and had enjoyed a wonderful holiday.just a week before she passed.
The family would love to see you at the funeral and later at the wake to share your stories of Rita. We want to thank you for your kind messages at this sad time.
