In loving memory of Kathryn Wheeler " Kate" who sadly passed away on 19th October 2022.
Our lovely mother sadly passed away after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer, on Wednesday 19th October. She leaves behind her devoted husband Geoff, her three children and their partners, Ed, Amy, Beth, Chris, Harry and Tommi, and seven grandchildren, Nathaniel, Phoebe, Leo, Lyra, Rex, Cleo and Louie. Our extended family, including her sister Hilary and brother Keith, will be celebrating her life at 4pm on Friday 11th November at Wessex Vale, then after at the White Swan in Mansbridge.
Mum spent her life caring for us all, including the hundreds of children she taught throughout the years in local schools. A long-time resident of Woolston, she also ran The Boat Shop with Dad for fifteen years. Mum enjoyed travelling, visiting her friends, tending to her garden, and spending time with her family.
Never understanding why people wear black to funerals, Mum would love everyone to wear colours to her celebration. We are requesting donations to the Countess Mountbatten Hospice instead of flowers, as they cared for her so well and she was able to spend her final weeks at home.
