Pete Wass (11 Sep 1965 - 6 Oct 2022)

I have only found out today, that Pete no longer graces us with his presence, wit and humour. Pete and I served together in the RAF in the 1980's at RAF Brampton and for a long time kept in touch, including visiting him when he was stationed in Berlin visiting him at his Mum and Dad's house and having a few beers with him and his brother Colin, in The Scarborough Arms, in Tickhill. Regrettably, life got in the way and we lost touch contact with each other. My condolences to his family RIP Buddy, Per Ardua Ad Astra............. I'll raise a glass in your memory later.........

To Yvette, Reid and Archie, so sorry to hear this awful news. We did not see Pete very often but he was a lovely guy. Sorry that we could not be there but hopefully my Mum and Dad explained that we were away on holiday. Lots of love Joss Sarah Rosie and Ed x

Pete was and will continue to be a huge inspiration to everyone who knew him. A real life hero. He will be sorely missed but forever appreciated and loved.

I worked only briefly with Pete but in that short time came to know his warm personality, sense of humour and enthusiasm to work together to get the job done. Pete will be greatly missed!

My brother, also Pete, and I first met Pete one cold, damp Saturday morning at Huntingdon Rail Station. Probably around 1984...
As was the style in those days all three of us were dressed in 'casual' clothes (no colours), Pete looking smart with a Wednesday belt. We spotted this, and as there usually wasn't many Wednesday supporters around those parts, approached Pete. He saw us and had a look of 'oh no, what now' - but once he'd confirmed he was going to the match, as we were, we never looked back.
Pete was stationed at RAF Brampton at the time, until it burnt down (he was later transferred to Berlin, until the wall came down - coincidence?!). We spent a lot of time in each others company from then on - football and drinking mainly - until we all moved on and our lives diverged. But there's always that thread - good mates and Wednesday - they stay with us for ever. Happy memories on a very sad day.

What a lovely guy. Pete was a pleasure to work with and I was lucky enough to get to do that twice. He always made time for a catch-up and I always knew he would have my back when daft client demands rolled in. He will be sorely missed x
