In loving memory of Maurice Allan Amos who sadly passed away on 19th September 2015

Chris Ilett wrote

Thank you uncle Maurice for all the wonderful childhood memories of our visits to you, auntie nessa, Catherine and David. I especially remember our summertime picnics and visits to the new forest, where we built dams in the streams and had endless hours of fun.

Lots of love from chris xxxx

We touched each other's lives briefly but it was a true pleasure to have known Mo. In Nessa he clearly chose a loving friend & wife who's caring & commitment fulfilled his life to the end.
We shall miss you ol' blue eyes!
Nessa, our thoughts are with you & your loving family.

We remember the ‘fixed’ smile on his face as we tied up in Teddington Lock after our trip from Limehouse. We all just burst out laughing! That was Mo, always joking. Lots of love to Ness and family, we will be thinking of you. Carol & George

Mo taught us so many important things…... Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
And how valuable it was when he taught our son (3yrs old) to pee on car tyres. Soon he discovered that also peeing on cabbages made them go black which were just some of our memories of rainy holiday’s in Cornwall with our Cornish Patsy’s. Visiting Trego Mills looking for screws and little useful things that would proudly fill any man’s drawer, Mo you made us all laugh so much!

A leader that said he wasn’t a leader but was such an example to us as he so faithfully lifted us up in prayer, Mo was truly an intercessor for us all. His wisdom and knowledge about the things of God helped us stand firm in difficult times, Mo never turned us away.

Mo, you will be sadly missed, our hearts go out to Nessa, Katherine, David and close family.

My sincerest condolences to my cousin Vanessa, and Kathryn and David on the loss of a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Maurice has been taken too soon, and is now and forever safe in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I have many happy memories from family gatherings years ago, now in the dim and distant past. I will always remember his humour.
My thoughts are with you all.

When I was forging through my teens

Ahead with apprehension

I met a bearded coiffured man

Who helped to ease the tension

Through many schemes and escapades

Some grand although some lesser

I also met his dearest wife

The one we know as Nessa

We talked of cars and pcb’s

Transistors pots and Floyd

So patient with my mad ideas

He'd never get annoyed

In later times as years went by

We’d gone our separate ways

We’d meet again and catch right up

It only seemed like days

He was a true friend that is clear

That’s all you need to know

His loss is felt by all his friends

The one we know as Mo

My Uncle Maurice was always my funny uncle. When I was young I never quite knew how to take him until I realised I was meant to laugh! We pass on our condolences to the whole family.

We always made a point of catching up with Mo and Ness when we were in the same area of the canal network. We always enjoyed their company. Sadly, now no longer to be.
Ness, here's thinking of you and the family. All our love,
Geoff and Mags.

Having known Maurice for the last 60 years we had so much fun together damming the stream in North------------------------------------------------------ium and later potholing in the Mendip hills and working together, lastly meeting up and boating around the canal system. Words cannot express the loss we all feel.
Maurice will be sadly missed.
Lots of love to Nessa and family.
