It is with much sadness that I read today that my cousin Barry has passed away. As an army daughter and wife I didn’t meet with Barry very often as I travelled the world all my life but do remember what a lovely man he was. My heartfelt condolences go to Janis and all the family. X

In loving memory of Barry Bevis who sadly passed away on 20th September 2022.
We said farewell to Barry on the 20th September, as he passed away peacefully with his wife by his side. He suffered from a short, severe illness, which took him earlier than he was ready for.
A husband to Janis, father to three girls (Anne-Marie, Helen & Heather), and grandfather to 5 children (Zen, Jaz, Daisy, Jake & Arabella), he was by occupation a Painter and decorator, a retained fireman serving 24 years at Hythe Fire Station, a successful small holder of 51 years, a community evangelist, and local hero.
♦️Hythe fire station would not be operational if it was not for his determination and commitment to fight for its survival.
♦️The small holding was under threat multiple times by the council as they threatened to develop the land, He fought to keep it going for the community and the benefit it provided.
♦️He started the Christmas fire engine that came through the neighbourhoods playing tunes for charity bringing joy to everyone from their door step.
There are so many more areas and lives Barry has enriched, that is evident from the 100’s of messages we have already received . . Xx
