Terry was a stalwart at Eagle Star and of our ex Eagle Star friends society. I will miss him and will always remember his good counsel when he was one of the select group of decision makers of our Mortgage Department. He kept many of us on the right path! RIP Terry.

I have warm childhood memories of Terry as a tolerant and kindly companion around Abbey Wood, Plumstead and Charlton where I enjoyed the hospitality of Uncle Tom and Auntie Dorothy. As pressures eased later in life we were able to meet again. I very much enjoyed our conversations. One of his stories concerned his first few months in the City - having to awaken his boss after a heavy lunch in time for the cheques to catch the last post of the day. Having become established, he arranged mortgages on commercial properties, using several phones at one time, so that his ears carried sores. When time came for him to retire, on reaching Sidcup he stood on the station platform and flicked his season ticket onto the rails.
I always admired Terry as an energetic and effective person, with a joyful enthusiasm. For example, besides holding down a highly responsible job, he was capable of refurbishing bathrooms and many mechanical items, of going to the gym at 6.30 in the morning, and of installing widely admired electrical Christmas decorations.
We are so sorry he has left us, and we send our condolences to Beryl and family. He will be missed.

Such a lovely man, I have so many happy memories of Terry when I visited as a little girl to see Beryl, Terry, Andrea and Donna with my Mum, Dad and brother. He always had such a great sense of humour and made us all laugh. He will be greatly missed!

Many happy memories over a period of 40 years as neighbours to Terry and Beryl. Chats in the street to/from the shops were always a pleasure.

Happy memories of a lovely man. I will always remember being the pillion passenger on Terry’s motor bike riding up through London to the office nearly 60 years ago! Fun times.
