Dear Valerie, Joanne and Simon.
Please accept our sincere condolences on Jonathan's death.
Words seem too shallow at these times, but please do try to remember all the good times you all shared together with Jonathan. Look back on your travelling abroad and your Morris Dancing in particular to bring back these happy memories.
Take comfort in the certain knowledge that you could not have done more to make Jonathan's final days and hours more comfortable or loving; Jonathan will have understood and appreciated this.
We'll see you again at the Funeral of course.
God Bless.
Frederick and Margaret Maillardet

PHOTOS OF JONATHAN

Thank-you for your contributions and messages. I am collecting photos for an album for Dad. It would be superb to see photos of him we've never seen. Please post any photos you'd like to share of Dad so that I can include them in his album.

Dear Joanne
I was very sorry to receive a copy of your email about your dad.
I first had contact with Jonathan about 30 years ago when we were both doing our family trees. We had a common ancestor in "Souter Johnnie".
Laterally, during Covid, we had great fun with our other relatives, Jackie and Sheila on Zoom with your dad being absolutely charming and interested in everything we were doing.
It is a pity this can't happen again.
My sincere condolences to you at your family. I think Jonathan will be greatly missed.
Alastair

I cannot say how sorry I am to hear of the passing of Jon. He was a lovely man, and one who I enjoyed a special relationship with both as a friend and an Ex Work Colleague.

My thoughts and Condolences go out to Dear Val, Joanne, Simon and their families.

I have known Jon & Val for over thirty and will always Jons witty sense of humour. He was always the life and sole of the party.

In business he was loyal, dedicated, competent and supportive and always did yje best for the Company such that our Professionalism was upheld. I will of course notify all those friends he made at The Gf Partnership of his passing, and we will all say a very fond faarewell to a lovely kind man.

A legacy that has lasted with me of Jon, is that at Dinner Parties or any other celebration he would stand and raise a glass saying Cheers!!! Well cheers to him from me. God Bless You!

We are so saddened to that you have all lost such a wonderful man. Please accept our heartfelt sympathy. I will always regard Jon as a very dear friend. Right from the start when I first sent him a family tree enquiry he was such a help. We have wonderful memories of your visits to us in Australia and a highlight of my life was my trip to England where I got the "Royal" tour of London. I know you will all have wonderful memories that will sustain you in the days ahead. As we watched the Queen's funeral I thought if Jon was here we would have a running commentary. We will be thinking of you all on the 6th October. Much love. Gwen and family.

Words could never amount to the sorrow that is left upon the void of my heart, for as much as we are apart you are always in my presence - when I look in the mirror to see my blue eyes (with ours being the sole pair amongst the family) to me getting red in the face to resemble your rosey cheeks. For this is not the end and is only a new beginning. I love and miss you ❤️

I was so sad to hear of Jonathan's passing. He will be sadly missed.
My Mum and I spent a lovely weekend with Jonathan in Rockcliffe and we went to Elisland Farm for the descendants of Robert Burns and his contemporaries day. Jonathan was a wealth of information on Souter Johnny.
I enjoyed all his chats on zoom.
He will be very busy speaking to all his ancestors and of course the Queen.
My sincere condolences to you all.
