In loving memory of our dear auntie, Doris Pickering.

In loving memory of a dear auntie. It was such a coincidence that we ‘followed’ auntie Doris to Dorset from Staffordshire and lived only a few miles away! We would go out for lunch with her and have happy memories of those times. More recently I’d pop in to see auntie Doris and watch the old quiz shows with her on tv as well as chatting about family past and present and our memories of Alrewas where we both grew up. I’ll remember these things fondly and we will miss her very much. RIP Doris.

I met Doris through WI in Verwood . We became friends and I remember her telling me that she joined the WI when she lived in the north at the age of 16 and went along with her mum .
