In loving memory of David Johns who sadly passed away on 2nd August 2022
David was born in Trawsffynd, North Wales in 1941 the only son of Hilda and Charles. In 1945 he relocated to Greenwich, London where he remained for his childhood and teen years . He and his best friend Jimmy Copus were Sea Scouts until their teens and at 21 he married and joined the Royal Navy. Unfortunately the marriage didn't survive the navy life.
He left the Navy in 1967 and married Sandy in 1968 and they had their son Garrant, who David was so proud of. David worked as an It Manager until his retirement. In 2010 he was presented by His Excellency of the Malaysian Embassy with the PJM for his service in the Malaysian/Borneo Confrontation in the 60's. A bit late but at least he got it.
Both he and Sandy loved to cruise and visited New Zealand a few times where David met up with his old ship mate Andy who lives in Napier. David loved the country and would have liked to have lived there.
He was the most wonderful man to his family, patient, kind, generous and always reliable in a crisis. He will be sorely missed by Sandy, Garrant and all who knew him.
