Ellen Dryden (28 Oct 1938 - 28 Jul 2022)

One of my favourite memories of your mum was on your hen doo. Brilliantly game, funny and naughty all night. Have the filmic evidence to prove it too x

As a family, Ellen accepted us into her life and it changed it for the better. She helped me so much with my own writing and would take me to plays and to London. She was always so interested in our lives and any visit we got to have with her (usually weekly) was a highlight for me. I remember sitting in her kitchen whilst she cooked and I worked on my GCSE English work and she would meticulously read it all and help me improve.
Words can not describe how much she will be missed.

I met Ellen when she was asked to help with a Christmas entertainment at Banham church. I felt that my life was changed by that meeting. She was so wonderful and funny to talk to and we soon became friends. I was delighted when she joined Burgate singers and we shared many happy trips to rehearsals. Love and best wishes to Lucy, Paul, Hope, Jon and Stephen.

It was always such a pleasure to be in Ellen’s company. She was so warm, charming & engaging with many wonderful stories to tell & a gorgeous smile. She was very witty with a twinkle in her eye and so elegant & graceful. Sending our love to Lucy, Paul & Hope, Jon & Stephen and all Ellen’s family & friends. We are sorry we won’t be with you for the funeral.

I will always remember Ellen’s kindness - especially the first time I met her and she welcomed me into the rehearsals for A Midsummer Night’s Dream when I randomly rocked up in the middle of the production and she put her arm around me and swept me into a gaggle of fairy extras. Beautiful lady with the best sense of community ❤️❤️❤️

It was a real privilege to know Ellen. A wonderful, kind and accomplished lady. We cherish the memories of happy family times spent in her company and remember Ellen with great affection. We will miss her tremendously.
