Patricia Tuxford (3 Feb 1944 - 16 Jul 2022)
Funeral Director
In loving memory of Patricia Tuxford who sadly passed away on 16th July 2022.
By Kirsty Tuxford.
Mum was an artist, a talented gardener and a whizz with word puzzles and crosswords. She was a gentle soul who was very quiet and shy. She loved animals, and as well as numerous pets as a child, she also had cats as an adult. Mum donated monthly to the RSPCA, and for this reason I've chosen this charity to receive donations in her name.
Mum's father, Geoffrey was a design engineer for the National Coal Board, and her mother was a championship swimmer and talented ballroom dancer who won several national awards. Mum's brother Derek had a successful career in the RAF. Mum always loved the water, and to dance - clearly passions inherited from her own mother.
She was devoted to her husband (my dad) Clive, and I'm sure that now they are re-united she will be peacefully enjoying a few drinks with him somewhere. Though as usual, I doubt she'll get a word in edgeways because dad liked to talk so much!
Mum took great pride in keeping her house and garden in pristine condition. And she loved spending hours pottering around the garden on a sunny day - something she did for as long as she was physically able. When dad was alive, they enjoyed sitting in the garden (or the greenhouse when the weather was bad) and having a few drinks together.
Mum also liked to be well presented and you'd never see her outside the house without full hair, make-up and nails. In her younger years she was incredibly glamorous - and even in her last days she was still painting her nails.
She was a great cook. Dad used to rave about her homemade meat and potato pies, which also included artistic pie crusts decorated with carefully sculpted pastry leaves. She cooked me and dad many hearty meals throughout her life.
She is sorely missed and I hope with all my heart that wherever she is, she at peace.
