In loving memory of Bridget Philomena O'Neill who sadly passed away on 13th July 2022.
Bridget (Bridie) Philomena O’Neill of Kildare Road, St. Ann’s passed away on Wednesday 13th July surrounded by her beloved family. Originally from Kilkenny, Ireland, Bridget moved to Nottingham in the early 1970’s to raise a family on the Wells Road and in her later years on Kildare Road.
She will be known to many as the St. Augustine's primary school lollipop lady where she worked for over 20 years. Bridget also spent much of her working life caring for the elderly in nursing and residential homes in the Mapperley area. Bridget's main interest in life was her family; but what brought her most joy in her later years was spending her time with grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she cherished and loved to spoil. She was also an avid Ireland rugby union fan and never missed a match on T.V.
Bridget's beautiful legacy will live on through her six children: Ann, John, Esther, Jane, Gary, Kerry and her grandchildren: Mitchel, Megan, Fiona, Liam, Natasha, Anthony, Paige, Aiden, Connor, Jack, Ronan, Katie, Louie, Joseph, Aoife & Malachy, and her eight (soon to be nine) great grandchildren.
Also will be sadly missed by her sisters Kathleen, Mary, Phyllis and her daughters in laws and son in law, Ruth, Michelle, Matty and brother in law Tommy and all of the grandchildren loving Partners and Bridget’s Nieces and Nephews and all her friends
Funeral mass will be held at 11.30am on the 8th August at St. Augustine's RC, Woodborough Road, St Ann’s and cremation to be held at Wilford Hill crematorium at 1pm. Family flowers only, and donation to Nottingham University Hospital Charity.
