In loving memory of Dawn Collier who sadly passed away on 22nd June 2022 at the age of 77 at The Wellington Vale Care Home. The carers were superb to the end.

Dawn was a gentle soul who had a kind, caring and above all, loving nature. A Wife, Mum, Sister, Nanny, Auntie and Friend who always put her loved ones first before herself.

She enjoyed 55 years of marriage to her devoted husband Ian, and she doted on her three Grandchildren, Clare, George and Oscar. She was a wonderful mum to her son Heath and her daughter Sharon who loved her as much in return.

She was happiest when she was around the people that she loved and that especially applied to her Grandchildren. All her friends were dear to her including friends in Australia, which she was lucky enough to visit. She created many fabulous memories throughout her life, many of which she could still recall throughout her dementia condition.

Her passions included holidays, cooking, gardening and visits to the seaside. Her favourite colours were purple, pinks and she loved all things floral. She also loved butterflies and nature.
She loved caravanning with Ian, especially down the West Country where they could relax and enjoy their retirement.

She was the best Mum, a son and daughter could ever wish for. She'll live forever in our hearts and will never be forgotten by us.

Thank you Mum, for making us the people that we are today.
Rest in peace knowing that you're loved by all who had the privilege of knowing you.
Until we meet again. X

My incredible wonderful Nanny. Who will forever be with me, in my memories and in my heart. Your unconditional love for me and all others you loved around you was so present and deeply felt for literally as long as I remember. You were always the most supportive, the most proud, the most caring. Giving me cheese money when I was a poor student, moving me in and out of houses, pitching your caravan wherever you needed to to ensure I had every opportunity I wished to pursue, I would not be where I am today without you and I am forever grateful and feel the luckiest to have had you as my Nanny, how could I ever ask for more. You always told me I was a 'go girl' and I always told you it was because I got it from you - inspired by all your travels with Pop, friends and family, and business ventures of your own. You will live on through so many people you have left behind, certainly through me in endless cups of tea, your iconic chicken stew, apple fritters, love of fun, interest in others, caring nature and general sunbeam of an aura (that I can only hope to somewhat replicate). I'm glad I got to say all of this to you in person before you left us. I still can't quite believe you're gone. I hope you are back with Pop now.
Love you forever 💕 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Your kindness and joy was infectious, always brightening every room you were in. I’ll never forget the countless times you were there for me and love that you gave to all of us.
So many happy memories with you; from being fed apples all year round in every form imaginable at twisty willows, to long trips away in the caravan and the ecstatic sound of “weee” as soon as you got excited about anything.
You would never tire of hearing about anything I had been doing, constantly showing amazement and encouragement at the slightest of details. Until the end you remembered these details - it just needed translating from your Nannyisms.
I’ll love and miss you forever. I know you are happy with Pop looking down on us and you can both rest in peace.

My beautiful Mum, you are sorely missed in all manner of ways and I will always remember you. I find comfort in believing that you are with Dad now and together you were the best parents - the very best. Dementia eventually took you but you will live on in me and my children - I love you Mum xx

Cousin Dawn, We we’re all very close has children Dawn being the eldest then Gillian me Justine, Julie, & Ken the baby of the pack. The Moon family lived around the corner from us with a Recreation Park at the bottom of the garden we would spent many times together making Daisy Chains playing ball or on the swings
Lots of fun together. Dawn trained to become a hairdresser and would help me with my hair, she married had two children the latter years not seeing so much of each other but always a hug and warm welcome when we met up.
Rest in peace Dear Dawn, DEMENTIA is so cruel.
Much love, Justine Gillian my sons Ashley & Julian xxxx

I was privileged to have Auntie Dawn as part of my life from the very start. Always saw her as a second mother figure in my life who was always there when I needed her. From sorting my hair out after my sister had been practicing on me to holding my hand in the hospital after I had badly broken my arm. She was always highly supportive and proud of all the family achievements. Auntie Dawn will be sorely missed but we will be forever grateful for what you have done for us all xxxxx

Beautiful Dawn.....I classed you always unofficially as my mother in law. What an honor it was to have had the privilege to have known you for nearly 10 years, when I shared the heart of your wonderful Son, Heath with you. I loved you from the first time we met and knew we would bond. What fun and laughs we had until the very end of your life. I miss you so much already, but I promise to carry on your good work and care and love your Son and Grsndson Oscar as you did. Sleep well now and reunited once more with you soul mate Ian. Until we meet again. All my Love Karen xx
