In loving memory of Alan Greasley who sadly passed away on 26th June 2022. Alan was born in Barnsley South Yorkshire on the 25th May 1929, the son of a coal miner and the youngest of five children.
After leaving technical college Alan joined the Royal Navy on the 16th April 1947 and spent 12 years serving his country leaving as a EL Mech Chief Petty Officer in 1959, He had travelled the world extensively and served on no less than 15 ships, including 4 shore bases.
After leaving the Royal Navy Alan joined IBM as a Customer Engineer in Manchester and Liverpool and progressed through various positions within the company. When he retired after 32 years he had attained the title of Senior Telecommunications Standards Consultant.
Alan leave three sons, Chris, Mark and Dan and eight grand children. He was much loved and respected by all who knew and will be sadly missed.
