Christine Mairi Seymour was born 30th March 1953 to Tom & Margaret, a little sister for Janette. She grew up in Netherlee and attended Netherlee Primary School and then onto Williamwood & Eastwood High Schools. She always wanted to be a teacher and went on to gain her Teaching qualifications at Hamilton College of Education, graduating in 1973 and then a Post Graduate qualification specialising in Nursery Education.
She met Brian Brown from Larbert and they started going out in January 1970. They were engaged in May 1971 and married after they both graduated in July 1974. They set up home together in East Kilbride where Christine taught at Mount Cameron Primary School. Alan was born in 1980 and David in 1982 and the family moved to 8 Dorian Drive, Clarkston in 1985 in time for Alan starting school.
Christine returned to teaching in 1986, first at Langside Nursery, then Battlefield Primary, and Darnley Primary before becoming Deputy Head at Bankhead Primary. She became Head Teacher at Dalserf Primary then returned to Bankhead Primary as Head Teacher before retiring in 2011.
Coming from a railway family, Christine gained a love of travel from an early age which she continued throughout her life. She was never happier than when researching and organising a holiday or trip away whether with Brian, family, friends or all three.
Christine's greatest love was her family and she readily welcomed Claire and then Marianne into the family and was overjoyed to become the hands on, fun but fair, open house Gran to Niamh, Eilidh, Carys, Isabella, Katie & Jack and Mum to her beloved Tibetan Terrier Tipi.
Sadly after almost fully recovering from a major leg break in early 2021, Christine was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer back in October. Her last journey was a rollercoaster of highs and lows with her last months on a high with days in the conservatory and garden until a quite rapid decline at the end.
She was a loving, caring, inspirational woman who touched the hearts of all who knew her and will be very sorely missed xx
