In loving memory of My Dad Pete House who sadly passed away after suffering with prostrate cancer for six months on 2nd June 2022

My Dad was a very black and white man who hated any fuss especially if it involved him, although I know he would have loved the triumph motorbike that we got him today. My mum tells me he was on wheels from being a toddler, from having a tricycle, to a bicycle, to a motorbike, to steam engines, to having his first reliant car to then progressing to a four wheel car. He hated anyone driving him anywhere and I remember when he tried to give me driving lessons, which obviously was a non starter because I couldn’t pick things up as quickly as he wanted me too, although he was very proud when I passed my test and bought me my first car, however he still hated me driving him anywhere and would constantly put his foot on the imaginary break whilst in the passenger seat.

I think I inherited many traits from my dad, mainly stubbornness or on the positive side perseverance. We both loved chocolate and I would buy him hoodles of his favourite chocolate on birthdays, Christmases and father’s days.

Overall what I learnt from my dad was to be resourceful, practical and to persevere at something to achieve what you want to accomplish. Dad I will always miss you especially having your constant advice about what to do. I am sure you will be looking over us and has promised at your bedside I will always look after mum and will honour my promise to take her on holiday to Yorkshire to scatter your ashes so you can be on holiday forever.

Lots of love always your pain in the bum daughter Sue.

If you would like to donate on behalf of my Dad we would be most grateful. Please donate directly to lymms funeral directors in Ilkeston. The donations will be split equally between treetops and Nottingham hospice who provide my Dad with great support but who are sadly desperate for more resources.

Thank you

Sue House (Pete’s daughter)
