In loving memory of Bobbie Carcary who sadly passed away on 1st June 2022.
Bobbie was a local girl, born in Borough Green. Attended Borough Green Primary and Wrotham Secondary schools. Left to start work at Odhams Press at Basted where she worked for 11 years.
We started courting in February 1967 just before she turned 20. Married on 20th June 1970 and moved in at Lunsford Lane, Larkfield where we lived for 12 years. While there Clare was born in 1976 and Bobbie became a dinner lady at Leybourne School. We finally moved to Leybourne in 1982 where we have lived ever since. On leaving the school Bobbie became an office clerk again until she retired.
One year we decided to celebrate the date of our meeting and went to Iceland for Valentines Day. Bobbie then had a thirst for travel. We have seen some great sights around the world, like man made paces like Angkor Wat Cambodia, The Great Wall of China, plus natural sights like Grand Canyon and Old Faithful in USA. Fantastic wildlife in South Africa and Galapagos Islands where we swan with Sea lions and all birds are not afraid of humans and you walk between them while the nest.
Bobbie enjoyed being on the committees of Ryarsh W.I. and Breathe Easy Maidstone. Never short of ideas of things to do. Her favourite hobby was patchwork quilting which she spent hours hand sewing. I have now inherited a large collection of quilts and a stack of material.
Bobbie will be sadly missed but i am sure she is organising the angels.
