In loving memory of John Michael Alcock who sadly passed away on 9th June 2022.

Husband, Brother, Dad, Grandad, Sailor, Policeman, Dog walker extraordinaire, Johnny, John Boy and John Michael. Dad was known to so many people in so many roles but he was our Dad , Abi, Josh and Dylan’s Grandad and Christine’s husband; a lovely kind man, a true gentleman; we will miss him.

Dad joined the Royal Navy at 15; Mum and Dad were sweethearts from school and married in 1966. Dad travelled the world in the Navy, eventually they were posted to Malaysia and spent 18 months away from home. Dad left the Navy and joined the police force eventually retiring from the police and picking up his travels again with Mum. He loved walking all his grand-dogs, though it’s fair to say they walked him and was equally a doting grandad when children came along.

Dad was fiercely protective of his family but Mum was really in charge, their bond strong until the end.

Dad lived a full life , devoted to his family with a close circle of friends.

A life well lived , happy and content; you cannot ask for more than that.

Go gently into that good night
