In loving memory of Richard Allan Weedon who sadly passed away on 31st August 2015.

Richard, born in Gweru 27th April 1951, married Pam Blair-Brown 29th July 1972. They had three children, Nikki, Wayne and Allan and then came along the grandchildren, who were the apple of his eye. Jason, Dean, Rachel, Craig, James and Zara.

Richard loved his family and was at his happiest when they were all together. He loved it when his sisters visited and would get so excited prior to their arrival. He loved his children popping in and took great interest in what his older grandchildren were up to as they were growing up and encouraged them to pursue their dreams and to work hard. The younger grandchildren would jabber jabber in their baby language to him and they would have their own conversations going on, always ending with a hug and a kiss for their Gramps.

Richard worked on Shabanie Mine for thirty two years, was a hard worker and highly respected within the various roles he performed throughout his time there.

In 2004 Richard and Pam left Zimbabwe to live in the United Kingdom and joined his sisters, Kathy and Jean in Portsmouth and were there until 2006 where they left to live in St Neots. During his time in Portsmouth Richard had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with his sisters and they had many laughs together.

Richard was diagnosed with cancer and fought bravely until he passed away peacefully on 31st August.

His family will miss him terribly and friends too. He leaves a gap in each of our lives but we are so grateful for the years we did have with him.

Miss you Bally - my favourite father-in-law. I miss those big bear hugs 'what a lovely bit of cuddle', the wonderful stories and infectious laugh. James loved talking to you on his toy telephone, and so glad that Zara got to have cuddles with her grandfather too x Of some of those great stories, all I'll say is pig ears on the braai, leopard skin thong, and an overnight fishing trip with Wayne, Greg and some very loud fishing reels ('don't these fish know we want to sleep?!!') What a brave man, what a wonderful man, our Bally Richard x

My brother-in-law Richard was a very kind man. I had many laughs with him when visited 8 years ago, and always looked forward to seeing what chocolate he had bought me each day! Will kiss you Richard.
