I had the wonderful pleasure of meeting Alastair last July and was overwhelmed by his warmth and generosity of spirit. I came to realise the hugely positive influence that Alastair had on his community and all who knew him. A truly great loss too soon of a wonderful, kind gentleman and inspirational role model. Thoughts and prayers to all his family and friends.

Whenever our paths crossed, through our families, professionally or more recently on the Jo Cox Way Alastair was always kind, generous, funny and excellent company. So sorry I’m not able to come on Tuesday but he and his friends and family will be very much in my thoughts.
