On 29th May 2022, peacefully in the care of Kirkwood Hospice, of Birkenshaw, aged 46 years, Matthew, dearly loved son of John and Sharon, like a son to Jimmy and Kathy, devoted dad of Mollie and Harvey, much loved brother of Laura and Dominic, remembered with love by his partner Laura, a beloved nephew, cousin, uncle, brother-in-law and fabulous friend to many.
Funeral service will take place at St Paul’s Church, Birkenshaw on Friday 24th June 2022 at 1.15pm followed by a private committal at Dewsbury Moor Crematorium. Friends please accept this invitation and be seated in church prior to the arrival of the cortege. Mourning clothes are not required, please dress smart casual with a touch of colour. Family flowers only please, donations in memory of Matt may be made online or placed in the collection boxes provided for the benefit of The Kirkwood.
Matt installed my fire about 5 years ago. I’m so very sorry to learn of his passing and will remember his family in my prayers. He was such a wonderful professional and yet humorous man. I liked him immediately and think of the huge loss those who loved him are now enduring. Prayers and thoughts are with you. S xx

One from school. Bambi on the back row. I used to remember him saying to me “no Abbé we can’t play kiss-catch AGAIN!” I spent most of school years following Bambi, wishing he was my BF, as did most of the girls. Great memories of a fabulous man.
