In loving memory of Brett McGee who sadly passed away on 16th May 2022

Brett was an incredibly funny and kind son, grandson, brother, uncle, cousin, fiancé and friend. Not only was he known for being the joker of the pack, but also for his love of Football, Disney and mentioning he was on Blue Peter, not once, but three times.
Whatever he did he always made sure to have fun with it, whether it was watching films when he was supposed to be popping popcorn, or kicking fallen groceries under supermarket shelves when shopping.
He would sing his heart out to all the musical soundtracks and would shed a tear at most rom-coms.
But mostly he would be absolutely ecstatic to know that Forest was once more a Premier League team.

Happy Birthday Brett, might watch dear Evan today because I know how much you loved the show when we saw it. I wonder if the film is as horrendous as the show?

I worked with Brett at Showcase cinema all through our university years. He made being there so much fun and even though we attended “rival” unis (Notts and Notts Trent) it was always good banter and we stayed in touch ever since. I can’t say that of the many other, transient student colleagues. I literally just stumbled across the news of his passing today (Aug 15th) and am absolutely gutted. He was a good egg, and one of those who was memorable for all the right reasons. A shining star. I’ll miss you, buddy X

We count ourselves lucky for knowing Brett if only for a brief time. We don’t think we’ve ever seen him without a smile on his face and to be honest I can’t think of a better way to be remembered. Our deepest sympathies to all that were part of his life

The loss of Brett still doesn't feel real and I'm not sure it will for a long time. It was a pleasure getting to know and work with Brett over the last few years. He often made me laugh with his dark sense of humour and the kindness and support he showed others was endless. Thinking of Emma and the whole McGee family and sending you the strength for all the hard days to come.
