At the age of 12, being mad on ballet,I remember, as a birthday treat Jean and Bernard taking me to see my first 'live' ballet, Swan Lake, at the Coventry Theatre, it was the best present a sister-in-law and brother could have given me - it was magic..

The tears are running because I am sad to have lost you and the precious hours we spent together, but I cannot mourn the ease with which you left us to join Dad in the next world. Dance together and remember the many happy times. Our families will share the pain with us and then help put the smiles back. God keep you safe. Love Christine

When I look back I see the shadows
Standing like trees beside the road I have walked
The longer I walk
The more shadows I see
They are all the people I have known
Who are no longer here and now when I look back
I realise how much I miss them
All of them
But some of those trees are bigger than others
There branches stretch further covering more of my life
I knew these people the longest
I never Knew Jean Swift
I only Knew Hazel’s Mum
And I cannot remember a time when I did not know Hazel's Mum
She was always kind to me
And now I will miss her too

I remember a day when the world was so big
And I was so small
But it was time for me to go out into that world
And I was very frightened
But she gently took my hand and I felt safe
I will be forever grateful
To my first teacher
