Margaret Ashton (8 Jul 1942 - 16 May 2022)
Funeral Director
In loving memory of Margaret Ashton who sadly passed away on 16th May 2022
Margaret had a tough start as a child she was placed in various "homes" due to death of her younger brother and family illness and other circumstances. Often bullied at school her life was tough. Leaving school brought independence and after trying several employments she trained to become a nurse. This brought close friendships and developed her social life and an organisation skills. Marriage and children came but she was not happy, they divorced and she re married. She had another child but after being a full-time mother for a few years she was bored and unsatisfied so she returned to nursing to help support the family whilst her husband trained as a nurse also. She further developed herself by undertaking District Nurse training, then worked as a district nurse up to her retirement. Moving to Nottinghamshire with her husband’s work she enjoyed her hobbies of gardening taking training and achieving national certifications.
Her health started to deteriorate and she needed spinal surgery, regular pain control and other problems arose with her chest and bowel. these restricted her life a great deal requiring moving to a smaller home, a bungalow was required for them both as her husband also had mobility problems. As thyroid problems and blood disorders developed, she required many hospital admissions and the carer became the cared for until her sad passing at her last admission.
Love You Always
