Michael Round (1 Mar 1925 - 7 May 2022)

Mike was a long and much loved friend of my late parents Harold & Olwen and I fondly remember him from my teenage days soon after he and Jean started their life in Bournemouth. He was such a lovely guy and fun to be with. He at a long and fulfilling life and whilst he will be sadly missed the memories of Mike was last a lifetime. He was a wonderful English gent.

We have happy memories of a wonderful, fun loving man. A true gentleman. Mike and Geraldine Broadley.

I have known Mike as a colleague and friend for about 65 years . He was a true gentleman and of the highest integrity. He served the nation well as a soldier and Police officer and I would class him in he top 5% of persons I have known. They do not build his model any more.

Fond memories of such a lovely man.

I first met Mike when I worked with him at the Kingston Lacy Estate, National Trust. He was such a kind, thoughtful, interesting man with a real passion for life and for people. We’ve kept in touch ever since and I always appreciated his interest in me. Mike was unique and a real gentleman, and to quote our favourite saying, he was ‘as sharp as a tack’. He will be greatly missed and always remembered, our thoughts are with Janet at this sad time. Lucy & family xx
