Darling husband of Nicola

Nicola Dhanjal wrote

Rash and I met in what we both found an unconventional way on the online super highway. Neither of us thought by dating online we would find anyone special never mind the person we would fall in love with and choose to marry. Thank you Lily Lou for signing me up, without you I would never have found Rash, someone who became my best friend, soulmate and husband.
Rash has meant so many things to so many people and I would like to share some of those today with you his family and friends who loved him dearly.

Kind: Rash was………
Caring: Rash showed…………..
Creative: Rash’s passion was in art and music. As a graphic designer………
Honest:
Brave: When Rash was diagnosed with cancer on the 6th March 2014 he was diagnosed, it felt like time had stopped and our world was crumbling down. But Rash met it head on and showed amazing bravery and strength during his treatment during the months to come. He was there for us, his family and friends and on so many occasions his bravery got us through many difficult meetings with the doctors and on days when we were finding it tough.
Selfless: Even during his treatment Rash was more concerned that his dad, brother and myself were ok. He was selfless in all things not just during his treatment and he wanted to make sure that he wasn’t going to be defined by this illness.
Trusting: Rash trusted his friends and family………….
Self Esteem: Rash didn’t always hold himself in the highest regard, he sometimes had very low and difficult times. But as I’m sure you will all agree he was the most amazing person who was there when you needed him, cheered you up even if he was down and always put others first before himself.
Self-Acceptance – Polonius had it exactly right when he said “To thine own self be true“. As the years progressed Rash expressed his thoughts, feelings and creativity freely. He accepted and appreciated all those he met and as you will all agree he made such a positive dent in friendships he made over the years.
Great company: As Rash’s family and friends could attest over the years Rash was fantastic company, whether it was through serious debate, light conversation or though music. It was one of the first things that I fell for even on our first date, we realised how much we had in common, we talked, we laughed, and danced the night away to Teddy Pentergrass. A night I will never forget.
There is a lot to be said for the phrase ‘the best things come to those who wait’. I still can’t believe that I had the privilege not just to meet the most gentle and loving Rashpaul but to fall in love and to marry my partner in crime. Even though our time together was not as long as we planned we have enjoyed so many great times together and have created so many memories that will always be treasured.
Spiritual:
Wisdom:
Good Listener:
Understanding:
Loving:

All of these qualities I have mentioned above can be put into four phrases;
Channy’s Son
Nind’s Brother
Nicola’s Husband
Our Friend.

Rashpaul Dhanjal, you will be forever loved and never far from our thoughts.
