Woodcock Hill Woodland Cemetery in Rickmansworth is a lovely funeral choice for someone who prefers a green burial. Opened in 2002, this environmentally friendly cemetery in Hertfordshire is a woodland area which offers natural burial plots and also supports the interment of ashes.

To encourage the natural growth of woodlands headstones are not allowed, but you are invited to an annual bulb or tree planting day, to honour the person who has died. Shrouds, coffins and caskets used for burials need to be made of natural fibres or materials such as wicker, cardboard, softwood.

You don’t need an appointment to visit Woodcock Hill Cemetery, but do make one if you’d like to be guided through the premises. Car parking is available on-site.
