Tarn Moor Memorial Woodland is a beautiful natural burial ground providing green funeral choices people who live near Skipton, North Yorkshire.

Open in 2002, the woodland is part of the charitably-run 10-acre Tarn Moor Memorial Estate. The site has a mix of open glade areas, meadows, woodlands and benches and footpaths.

Tarn Moor offers a complete green burial service. The site offers natural burial plots, ashes plots and also space for the scattering of ashes. Coffins, shrouds, caskets and urns need to be made of biodegradable materials.

A designated meadow area is set apart for the scattering of ashes. A separate area is reserved for pet burials, or the scattering of pet cremation ashes.

Tarn Moor Memorial Woodland supports families arranging a burial that reflects the personality of the person who has died. Grave markers for natural burials include the option of stone monoliths engraved by a stonemason. These graves are part of the Memorial Stones area of Tarn Moor natural burial site.

Families are free to choose their own Funeral Director from the local area or beyond, with the natural burial ground’s team happy to assist in any way.

Also part of the Tarn Moor Estate is the Craven Heifer Pub which could be used as a venue for a small gathering of family and friends.
