Fairspear Natural Burial Ground in Oxon, Oxfordshire is a natural burial site which the perfect location for those who want to have a green funeral in a secluded and serene location. The woodland burial site is on the Cotswolds border and overlooks the countryside, making it an ideal resting place for a nature lover.The Wildflower meadow which was planted in 2000 has grown naturally and is home to many species of trees, including oak, wild cherry, ash and field maple. Native plants and local flowers add to the beauty of the woodland burial site.
Fairspear Natural Burial Ground is open to members of all religions and beliefs and supports natural burials and interment of ashes. Combined burial and ashes plots are also available for purchase. Families can organise all or part of the funeral independently or have the service organised by a funeral director. Wooden plaques can be placed to mark the grave. All further grave maintenance following the funeral, will have to be undertaken by the family.
Families are encouraged to use eco-friendly materials for coffins, urns and caskets. Biodegradable coffins made of papier mache or wicker and caskets made from handmade paper are available to order in different styles and designs.
Visits to Fairspear Natural Burial Grounds are by appointment only so call to take a tour of the grounds or to have your questions answered. Car parking and a shelter is available at the premises.
