Deerton Natural Burial Ground is a beautiful and secluded area in the Kent countryside, an ideal location for a peaceful green funeral. Situated between Sittingbourne and Faversham, the nature reserve is surrounded by orchards and a rich variety of wildflowers, bushes and plants.

Open to natural burials since September 2007, Deerton welcomes members of all religions and faiths, with no extra fees charged if you live outside the Kent region. You can no longer purchase burial plots in advance but you can still purchase ashes plots.

Deerton recognises that every family is different and are happy to support families with personalising their service via floral tributes, songs, poems, live or recorded music, the creation of a remembrance booklet, alternative funeral transport and biodegradable coffins.

A tree planting day takes place annually in February or March and is a special way to honour the memory of the person who has died. You can choose to plant a tree (choose from holly, hazel, ash, crab apple, wild cherry, whitebeam, rowan, among others) or instead, you could even choose to plant a native plant or wildflowers.
