Clayton Wood Natural Burial Ground
About Us
Clayton Wood Natural Burial Ground is a woodland burial site spread across 15 acres in Hassocks, West Sussex. The site which was opened in 2008, is part of the South Downs National Park.It has a designated area for natural burials and cremations as well as memorial lawns for the interment or scattering of ashes. Families can choose to purchase single or double depth plots and private family glades.The grave can be marked with freshly cut flowers, as well as wooden plaques or markers made from recycled English Oak supplied by Clayton Wood.
Bereaved families and friends can hold a memorial service or remembrance event at the West Sussex natural burial ground’s Oak Service Hall (seating up to 60 people) which is open to members of all faiths and religions. The Hall has a scenic view across South Downs and is a tranquil and quiet space to remember and mourn the person who has died. On-site parking and restrooms are available.
