On the 2nd April 2023 our mother passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at Western General Hospital. Our family are spread out all over the country with only my sister living in the local area. It was also just before the Easter weekend. Pearce Funeral services were absolutely brilliant at helping us through this very difficult time. They dealt with all the arrangements for collecting Mum from the hospital and taking her to the chapel of rest. They then came to my sisters house to meet with us to discuss arrangements. Everybody that we dealt with either by phone or in person were so lovely and professional. At the meeting we weren't rushed and were able to take our time to discuss and plan the funeral. John took all the details in readiness to get the order of service printed. We gave him our hymn choices and a photograph of our Mum for the order of service. We also asked for recommendations for a florist which they gave us and they too were excellent. They arranged for the order of service sheets to be printed and double checked all the details including the words for the hymns to ensure that everything was correct. We also discussed having a photograph to be shown on the screen during the service. Mum had been living in a care home prior to her death and it was arranged for the funeral to be live streamed to the home so that staff were able to watch. It will also be available for us to send to family and friends that were unable to make it. They just took care of absolutely everything. I also was able to go the chapel of rest and visit my mum to say my goodbyes. This was a very emotional moment but again the chapel was lovely and very peaceful and I was left alone to say my goodbyes with staff on hand should I need them. On the day of the funeral they were brilliant and kept us informed of what was to happen. They hearse met us at my sisters house and we all followed it to the crematorium. On arrival again staff kept us informed of what was to happen. We had a beautiful service conducted by a family friend a minister who had flown down from Scotland. Afterwards the undertakers took the flowers out to a meeting area and had also arranged for the collection box as we had requested donations to the Alzheimer's Society. From start to finish I felt completely confident in the staff at Pearce Funeral Services. Everything went perfectly thanks to their work and their attention to detail. I cannot thank them enough and would highly recommend them to anyone living in the Swindon area. Thank you to everyone at Pearce Funeral Services.
