Living in Australia and having to organise a funeral in the UK for my Father, not having had any previous experience of such things was very daunting, I honestly did not know where to begin. At Sherburn in Elmet they were extremely professional, incredibly understanding, tremendously helpful and above all they were kind. They guided me through the process step by step and were delightful to work with from the very start through to the end at such a traumatic time.

I would not hesitate to recommend their services, they were amazing.

We dealt with Debbie who was professional but very aware of our distress. She was personable throught and both her and Jane kept in touch to ensure they understood our requirements and checked that the order of service , the delivery of service etc was exactly to our requirements. This has been our second use of there services and I would recommend them wholeheartedly. I cannot praise Thornton’s funeral care enough , right from the beginning when we contacted them , Jane and Debbie have been lovely , kind , caring , considerate , they listened to what we wanted for my mum and gave us advice when needed and they kept us informed every step of the way .  They showed my mum such respect which was really appreciated and although a sad day , my mums funeral was wonderful , all thanks to Thornton’s funeral care . From start to finish Jane and her colleagues provided an excellent service. Jane informed and involved me every step of the way making a very difficult and emotional situation easier to deal with. I was particularly touched by how Jane asked the family to tell her about our loved one so that when they looked after him during the time before the funeral, they could chat to him. That was very comforting. Thankyou to all the staff at 'Thornton's' your professionalism and sensitivity at what are very difficult circumstances was of an exceptionally high standard.
