I would love to have given a 5 star rating as Melanie was incredible, and didn't flinch at any of the million and one questions we asked.
My only thought for improvement was around payment - I requested to pay by cheque, as the bank will only issue cheques from a deceased account directly for the purpose of paying funeral directors (and I believe probate fees), and I did not have enough funds of my own to cover the fees.

It felt like an unusual request at the time, and permission had to be sought, then agreed. However I was not given a correct payee (I believe each Funeral director holds their own account, and so would need to be accurate). I called the number on the correspondence k Garforth office, which redirected) from the bank and nobody could confirm the payee, just kept repeating the sort code and account number which I didn't need as I was drawing a cheque. I had my first full sobbing session in the banking hall in the Halifax. The manager kindly went beyond his remit and authorised a Bacs transfer directly to the co-op.

I feel that throughout this, the incredible kindness of Melanie and all my interactions with the co-op, that this simple request should be a standard one, and correct information be given for this purpose. Banks are only able to issue funds from deceased accounts for specific purposes, and SHOULD only be by cheque - I was very fortunate, and incredible embarrassed, that the manager of the Halifax went above and beyond to do a BACS transfer.

I can't thank Paul & Melanie enough for the service that they provided for my late husband. I had never been in a funeral parlor before let alone arrange a funeral.
Paul and Melanie was so caring and compassionate and helped me come to terms with sorting everything out right down to the last minute of the service.
