After a few months of my mum being ill and getting the devastating news of her prognosis not been very long, we were then faced with a lot of questions that weren't being answered by many professionals involved. We basically had to find a funeral home quickly, and within an hour!
As a family we chose Co-op, and it's the best decision we ever made. They were amazing from the start. Their compassion is over and above, they treat us as though we were the only family going through this at the time. Our mum died just before Xmas but they phoned during the holiday period to check in and kept us up to date with everything. They took such good care of mum and were so respectful. We couldn't have wished for anymore for mum on her final days on earth.
To all the team at Whitkirk you are outstanding and I will never forget how amazing you all were at the worst time of our lives.
Thank you will never be enough.

We were informed and looked after every step of the way, with check in calls to ensure we were all OK with everything, and that we weren't struggling on the emotional side. Clive was treated with total respect, and our wishes were fully followed. I'd thoroughly recommend Coop Whitkirk for funeral care services, and Emma especially was a star. The service itself was moving, but a fitting tribute, with a montage of photos and music chosen by ourselves. The Celebrant Peta was also first class, and helped to make such a sad occasion into a lovely farewell.

Gentle , professional, respectful and caring in every possible way.  So grateful to Emma, Tracy and Clair for guiding us through.  They are so ‘ normal’ and down to earth, they make you so welcome. They don’t rush you with decisions, they help by answering questions quickly. So efficient with the organising of dates & times and preparation of the order of service. 
The funeral itself was exactly as my mum had wanted it for my dad. They had really listened! 
The most touching thing to me was the true care and respect they gave to my dad, 
We visited him in their chapel of rest ( we asked to go in but for the coffin lid to be on and they understood and said yes of course) and before we were shown in they knocked on the door and spoke to dad.  This meant the world to me in a very bleak moment. 
Our family are very grateful for all they did and send our sincerest thanks to a remarkable team.  The Co op are are blessed to have them and we were blessed with the service they gave us.

With no experience of dealing with a death or arranging a funeral and cremation, my siblings and I were extremely pleased to find the team at Coop Whitkirk knew exactly how to move ahead, and did so with great kindness and sympathy.

Gently advising, without pushing, they helped with every aspect of the process; from removing our fathers body, to coordinating the church and crematorium.  The standard of the Order of Service booklet was far superior to my expectations and other family ideas and contributions were absorbed into the proceedings without fuss.  The staff were very patient with our deliberations, and the family believe a great dignity was given to the passing of an important family figure.

Just to say a huge thank you for the care you showed to all of our family during the recent loss of my stepfather. Emma and her team at Whitkirk guided us through every stage of the funeral process giving us an excellent service from start to finish. The celebrant, Sarah, captured my stepfather perfectly during the service. A few tears but lots of smiles, bringing back memories that many had forgotten. Everyone who attended said it was an absolutely wonderful way to say goodbye to someone who was dearly loved. From our first visit to the Whitkirk office, the welcome we received and the twice a week telephones calls to check we were all ok, to the phone call I received the day following the funeral, we could not have asked for anything better. Many thanks to all. I will recommend your service to all.
