The sadness of losing two loved ones within 8 months was eased considerably by the knowledge that the Coop organised everything to go smoothly and just as we had wished.

We used Funeral Care, Chester Road for the funeral of our beloved mam. We wanted the very best and that was what we got. It was a professional and dignified service and everything was tailored to what we wanted. There was no "hard sell". We dealt with David and Marie both who were exceptional and understood our grief as well as our wishes for mam. On the day everything ran so smoothly so we were left to mourn our mam while all the organising was done by David and his team. Cannot fault this service.

From start to finish what a professional team nothing was too much and regular phone call from Alison checking we were alright guiding us every step of the way x after the service there was at least eight people asked us who we had used and what branch

The Service we received from Alison, Lynda, Marie and colleagues was excellent. Their attitude from the very first was that they wanted to help and provide us with the kind of funeral we wished for. And even though many changes were made after the original plan was set up. They accommodated our requests with friendliness and professionalism. The humanist they recommended was excellent and the service at Sunderland Crematorium was wonderful. Thank you all so much.

Everything was very well planned and ran smoothly taking away any stress of the day. The suggested Celebrant Dale Cox conducted a perfect service which was not rushed and she emphasised all points we had asked her to highlight.
Simon was always available to discuss a couple of alterations that inevitably came up. The office staff at Chester Road from walking through the door for the first time to the end were sympathetic and friendly. Special mention for Lynda.

They go above and beyond to ensure that your loved one is cared for, that you and your family are OK and that you get the service that you require. I dealt mainly with David who was phoning regularly to make sure myself and family were all ok and kept me informed of everything that was happening also all the staff who we talked to were so helpful and very easy to talk to. me and my wife said you could talk to them all as if you'd known them for years really put you at ease very impressed

The hearse turned up a bit late, having tried to get down the street where there is no street. We were leaving from down the road from the funeral shop! We were then late at the crem, due to road works, tho they could easily have been avoided if the driver knew his way around. I didn't then know whether people around the country and around the world would miss out on the latter part of the service. When we went into the crem, the funeral director did not invite family to join us, so friends, who were supposed to wait, went in first and family almost didn't get in. We went to pick up Sue's ashes and they were not in a scatter box. I asked you to ring to let me know when they were available, but had to ring myself. The music was brilliant. The service over-ran, but there was no-one following us in, tho I got nervous as I didn't know that. The curtains did not close, tho I don't remember having been asked about that.
