From the initial speed of response to my online message (on Boxing Day) to the professional and respectful discussions with Chris, to the handling of the minor problem on music provision and the suggestion to use Ian Hunter. The coop funeral services were fantastic. Gary who so helpful and all the staff were so nice. The funeral day went so well and couldn't fault them at all would definitely recommend the coop. We have used them 3 times in last 3 years.

My very first experience of arranging a funeral I can’t say anything other than , I was overwhelmed with the total respect given to the deceased myself and family ..the whole funeral from beginning to end was dealt with absolutely care and delicacy I was falling apart inside but all the staff in the co op Benwell funeral home were amazing during the preparation s , Chris and Richard  even down to Stewart the driver  , nothing impersonal here all first name terms ,right down  to the driver ,things I was given help with such as  preparation and composition of death notices for the newspaper , flowers , what to do after someone  dies ..information what to do when someone dies …and information plus grievance support , it was all there for me to make use of and I was only to glad of the help , I had no idea where to start it was all sorted between  us before I left  my initial call at the funeral home , I felt a sense of relief so many things had been sorted out immediately and I didn’t have all that much to do before the actual funeral and then afterwards the support and care they continued to gave me ,guiding me every step of  the way during the funeral  and all  without prompt . For the funeral, I chose  a humanist service A lady Maggie came to see me  ,she was  so good at her role , I gave her information about my fathers life and she put together a beautifully  composed reading with the addition of prayer and the music  personally chosen  . I was so happy with he composition it gave my father a wonderful send off ,then those special touches even made for me after the service . a suggestion  was made  ,I was asked if I would like to take a few of the roses from my fathers coffin top flower display to dry out  and keep , something I never would have thought to do , but they were stunning flowers I just could not take my eyes off them , what a lovely idea Richard thank you so much ,  I have them carried with me to another country ,just over a week later and even without water they are only just starting to fade  the whole experience with the Co op funeral directors Benwell lane Newcastle upon Tyne , was that of pure care maximum support and total respect especially towards the dead ,it was outstanding ,the whole experience was so comforting to feel you are in the hands of true professionals  and I can’t thank them enough for the way in which everything was handled many many thanks . All the staff were excellent - polite, very supportive, clear in their instructions. You helped to ease the funeral arrangements, at a time which was very difficult, and n particular Ian, the funeral director responsible for Kathleen’s funeral was very helpful.

At a difficult time our Funeral Director was extremely helpful and supportive, always professional but sensitive to our situation, With a lot to organise he kept us informed, was keen to fulfil our wishes and  ensure we did what was required of us to enable a personal service.  It was notable that a phone call or email was answered quickly and we knew they were available to help.

Gary McGee was the director for my mams funeral. He was amazing very knowledgeable about how things would pan out. But he was also very caring & understanding with all the emotions going on in head. On what was the most difficult time in my life after losing my mam co-op funeral care were fantastic in talking me through everything i needed to know and do. The funeral director who i was in contact with was kevin phillips i cant praise him enough for his help and professionalism during the entire time we were in contact and the day before mams funeral he gave me a phone call to go through everything that will happen on the day of the funeral and even on the day he once again walked us through everything step by step.

I want to say a massive thank you to coop funeral care for all their help and professionalism.
