Our mother had originally organised her funeral 10 years ago with the Co-op and when she died in April our first contact with the Byker branch was really so positive. 

We were treated with such kindness, compassion and empathy from everyone at the branch at all times. Due to the excellent service we received they made an extremely sad occasion into a joyful and happy one with an amazing celebration of her life. 

Special thanks to Kevin Phillips for his brilliant organisational skills with the date, time and wake arranged within a few hours and who ensured everything ran smoothly prior to and on the day. Also after listening to our wishes he arranged for the wonderful celebrant Sarah to conduct the service.   Also thanks to Ann for her total compassion on our initial contact just hours after Mam had died and Olivia for helping produce a beautiful order of service.

Everybody was most helpful in navigating me through the arrangements for my father. What might have been more difficult being so far away from Newcastle turned out to be very easy and the staff were most compassionate and helpful in every aspect of the process.

From the opening phone call with Ian to the final day. I was made to feel as though I was the Coop’s only client. Not only did everything run so smoothly but it was the care and empathy I received from everyone involved; particularly from Anne at the Byker office.

The humanist provided was excellent. So good that my friend recommended her to her father who is elderly and not in good health. He said that she would be fine but to tell her he hasn't got a date yet.
The coffin and flowers looked lovely.
