I cannot thank Liam, Julian and the rest of the team enough for the wonderful send off they arranged for my father. Once dad was in their care we felt an immediate sense of comfort and relief knowing he was somewhere safe where he’d be well looked after before his funeral. Liam and Julian had an extremely warm and caring approach, which made mum and I feel at ease and supported during such a difficult time. They were on hand whenever we needed advice and guidance and went above and beyond to support us through such a painful time.  Dad was treated with extreme dignity and respect and is now at peace. I wouldn’t hesitate at all to recommend Southgate and Roberts following our extremely positive experience of dealing with them. Such a professional service and nothing was a big ask. The florist they use also did an amazing job arranging dads flowers. Thank you to the whole team!!

We decided to use S&R in the hope that a smaller firm would give a good service and we were not disappointed, and would happily recommend them to anyone.

They struck the right balance between ensuring that everything was done when needed without being at all overbearing. They were very supportive, patient and accommodating. It was such a help for them to liaise with the church and pub re the service and wake, and things like sourcing the music was a huge help.  We asked, and they did. Nothing really seemed too much trouble.

From day one Liam and his team took fantastic care of my brother in such unprecedented Covid times, Brian was treated with dignity and great care and they guided me through such a difficult time with so much help and advice.
The service they provide is second to none and the time taken by their celebrant Julian Hitchens to gather so many memories was brilliant and he made the ceremony perfect. Their florist Sheila even managed to incorporate my brother's woolly hat that he always wore in the truly beautiful floral spray that sat on top of his coffin.

I cannot thank Liam and all of the team enough for the care and support they showed me at such a difficult time, after the loss of my dear Mum. Liam made the funeral arrangement process so much easier with his kindness and understanding. I was kept informed of the funeral arrangements at every stage, and had peace of mind that my Mum was in safe hands. When I visited my Mum in the Chapel of Rest, Liam was right beside me, supporting me. I could see how much love and care had been shown to Mum, she looked absolutely beautiful. I was given as much time as I needed to say goodbye to my Mum, and that meant so much to me.

On the day of Mum's funeral, Southgate and Roberts done my Mum proud. Everything went perfectly, from start to finish. The MInister who Liam put me in touch with delivered a heartfelt and poignant service. Southgate and
Roberts provided the most beautiful funeral flowers, my Mum would have loved them. Liam and the team supported me right up to leaving ... the Crematorium. Many of the mourners commented on how well it all went. When picking Mum's ashes up, the kindness shown by Julian, made a sad occasion easier to bear.

I would highly recommend Southgate and Roberts to anyone who sadly finds themselves in the position of needing a Funeral Director. I can look back now, and realise, I don't think I would have got through such a sad time without the knowledge that Southgate and Roberts were lovingly preparing Mum for her final journey - the reassurance and comfort I got from knowing this was priceless. Thank you all so much.
